The Red Gyarados
The Red Gyarados is one of the most iconic moments in Pokémon history — encountering the shiny Gyarados at the Lake of Rage in Pokémon Gold & Silver was many trainers' first experience with alternate-color Pokémon. Shining Gyarados brings that moment to the TCG as one of the first two shiny cards ever printed.
Released alongside Shining Magikarp in Neo Revelation (2001), Shining Gyarados is a powerhouse with 100 HP and devastating attacks. Like its Magikarp counterpart, it appears as a standard holo card with the Pokémon in its shiny red coloring rather than the blue default.
The double holo error variant of Shining Gyarados is particularly prized — the extra holographic foil gives the already dramatic red Gyarados an even more intense visual presence. These error copies are rare finds and command a significant premium over standard printings.
